TIAN MA GOU TENG YIN - Herbal Formulas in Traditional Chinese Medicine
A deep-dive look at the Chinese herbal formula Tian Ma Gou Teng Yin (gastrodia and uncaria drink). This is meant as a review for students and practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
And just a note: some books translate this is "Gastrodia and Uncaria Decoction" and others as "Gastrodia and Uncaria Drink." I use both in this video so you can get used to both.

Thank you for getting right to the point and taking the time to make helpful graphics & animations. So so grateful for you 😭

    I dry needle all day long and have over 15 years. I was trained at tristate under Dr. Mark see in 8 PM style acupuncture physical medicine. It is hands-down some of the best treatment tools that I have in my toolbox. His style is layered with French Meridian. My clinic is full with very little churn and when they go away, they do come back for treatments again even if they’ve looked for other styles because it’s so successful.

    Mahalo for the nuanced conversation about informed consent and use of influence. The idea of safety is not only a do no harm issue, but also a matter of an alignment of expertise and capacity to do no harm in making the client feel safe. The concept of "informed" is where the perspective of the patient has a power differential.

    Thanks Bro. I just hit the Gold Mine!. I had about a dozen Acupuncture treatments from a doctor trained in China who defected to Beverly Hills. I grew up in Hollywood. I went to an American Trained doctor and she was so bad I felt ripped off for dough. That made me think of the American Schools as total BS. I am going to try to make a video about Internal Side of martial arts, specifically Tai Chi, and Dragon Boxing and maybe some Fencing. I am drinking Earl Gray Tea.

    I'd teach you Crane and Pigeon Fists. You need some Fire and work on Wood to Fire Changes. Most people are hopeless so don't feel bad. Kids are the WORST! I have excess Wood and Metal from the Herbs and Training I have experienced. I know how to use 156 Herbs in my Martial Arts. I like Fasting Ginseng Tea with no Food or other Drink.

    I love all of your videos. You rock! Thanks for this recipe. I looked up some stuff and am now confused what the correct names are for cardamom. I understand that Bai dou ku is cardamom but some websites say Sha ren and Yi zhi ren are both black cardamom? Which one is correct? And for this recipe, does it matter whether I use regular(white) cardamom or black one?

    You should have taken a male model for the point location. Anyways it's a RUclips business to earn money through attracting more viewership.

    • @tcmstudy
      @tcmstudy Месяц назад

      Why should I use a male model? The majority of acupuncture patients are female, so it's important to be able to accurately and appropriately locate points on women. Tiffany and Malori volunteered to help with these videos. Should I have told them, "No, you can't be in these videos because of your gender?" This RUclips channel makes less than $200 per month, so it's not about earning money. Maybe I should just delete these videos since so many people find them offensive...

    Great video so far, thank you so much! I am attending an online school but video classes are minimal and we are left with the printed material, which is not as good (basically a compendium of other sources translated into Spanish). What I want to comment on is at 49:58, that is the possible correspondance of water with diseases such as rebellious qi and diarrhea. I believe that the connection is to be found in the lack of clean water. If you drink infected water, you are indeed likely to either vomit or get diarrhea.
